Why stamped concrete fades

Three culprits: UV light bleaches the color hardener, foot traffic wears down the surface antiquing, and water intrusion breaks down the sealer that was protecting both. After 5–8 years, most Virginia stamped concrete looks washed out and gray.

The good news: the pattern is still there. We can restore the color and seal without re-pouring a single inch.

Our four-step restoration process

Every stamped restoration follows the same proven process — short-cuts here are why DIY attempts and big-box contractors leave streaks, blotches, and peeling.

• Deep clean and pressure wash to remove failed sealer, dirt, and biological growth
• Fill any cracks with color-matched polyurethane
• Apply tinted sealer or recoloring agent matched to your original color
• Seal with a film-forming acrylic to lock in color and add 'wet look'

Color hardener vs. release agent touch-up

On heavily worn patterns we re-apply colored release agent in the recessed grout lines to bring back depth and contrast. On lightly faded patterns, a tinted sealer alone is enough. We assess and recommend during your free estimate.
